The UK Government has had some bad press over the years about the way it has (mis)managed IT projects designed to improve the way it engages with users. However, as the influence of the Government Digital Service (GDS) continues to spread to all corners of the public sector, we’re now seeing big changes in the way we can access and use all kinds of government run services. From prison visits to local waste collection – and everything in between – the way we interact with central and local government is slowly but surely becoming Digital by Default.
In fact, some of the most exciting and cutting edge work BookingBug are currently doing is actually for the public sector as government departments continue seeking ways to make their services simpler, clearer, faster and more accessible.
With that in mind, BookingBug are proud to announce that they are part of one of the most exciting government digital projects currently underway – online appointment booking for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s various consular services (such as registration of overseas births and applying for emergency travel documents) at British Embassies around the world.
